Women’s WWII Contributions Celebrated in Gettysburg

A special day of celebration is planned to honor the contributions of women who supported the homefront and served abroad during World War II.

Hosted by Vetti Thomas, a Gettysburg resident and WWII Army Nurse Corps veteran, the event will feature a number of activities and exhibits.

The event begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, at the American Red Cross Clubmobile, with free donuts served to all attendees. A special welcome from Gettysburg resident and WWII Army Nurse Corps Veteran Vetti Thomas at 10:30 am.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet several female WWII veterans and heroines throughout the day. Learn about the Homefront during WWII at the Mamie Eisenhower Exhibit, and discover how to research your family’s history.

The event also includes a wine and Hollywood trivia competition for attendees to enjoy.

The WWII American Experience is located at 845 Crooked Creek Road, Gettysburg.
