The local chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA), known as Battlefield FFA, is gearing up to host its annual Youth Ag Day on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Gettysburg High School. The event, themed “Constructing our Community,” promises a fun-filled afternoon from 2 pm to 6 pm, designed to engage people of all ages with the agricultural roots and community spirit of Gettysburg.
Located at 1130 Old Harrisburg Road, the high school will transform into a lively festival ground featuring interactive discovery stations where attendees can learn hands-on about various aspects of farming and agricultural technology. Activities planned for the day include face painting, games, and a photo booth, ensuring there’s something to capture the interest of every family member.

A highlight of the event will be the chance to get up close with farm animals, an experience aimed at giving kids and adults alike a direct connection to farming life. The Battlefield FFA members, who are local high school students, will lead demonstrations and share insights into the science and hard work behind farming.
The event is free to the public and offers a perfect afternoon outing for families seeking educational entertainment. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor, Youth Ag Day in Gettysburg promises to be a memorable celebration of agriculture and community spirit.
