| The YWCA Gettysburg-Adams County has offered a summertime outdoor pool at 730 Chambersburg Rd. in Gettysburg to the community over the past years. The following letter, announcing the pool will not be offered in the future, was sent to pool users today. Dear YWCA members, This weekend, we will conclude another season at the YWCA Outdoor pool. It was a great summer of fun and fitness! We appreciate everyone who joined us and cooperated with our COVID-19 safety protocols. Unfortunately, this will be the last season the YWCA will be operating the pools on Chambersburg Road. Due to the need for costly repairs and the property being available for sale, the lease is no longer a viable option for the owner or the YWCA. This is certainly disappointing for all of us. We strongly believe the YWCA Outdoor Pool is a great community asset, and we wish we were able to operate it for many more years. The YWCA is currently offering outdoor pool members who are not YWCA rec pass holders a complimentary two-week free trial. A YWCA rec pass gives you unlimited access to our indoor pool, whirlpool, racquetball courts, basketball courts and fitness center. All group exercise classes are also included with your rec pass.
