Heritage Festival Bike Parade Announced

The 2026 Adams County Heritage Festival Bicycle Parade will be held Sunday, September 20, at 1 p.m. at the Rec Park. It will feature both a Kids Bike Parade and a community walk along the Biser Trail. The entire day will be filled with great entertainment and wonderful food, making it a terrific community-unity event. Bike decorating starts at 12:30 p.m. near the stage, or participants may decorate their bikes at home.

This year’s parade marshal will be Alison Lintal, the current mayor of Gettysburg. She teaches yoga at her studio, Hidden Wisdom Yoga, and public policy at Gettysburg College. She enjoys living, walking and biking in Gettysburg with her husband and their two children.

Children ages 12 and younger who register near the stage at the festival and ride their bikes will automatically receive five entries in a raffle to win a $350 incentive from Gettysburg Bicycle & Fitness.

Children who ride their bikes before the event and report the ride to habpi2021@gmail.com—with their name, age, adult contact information and date of the ride—will receive one additional entry.

If weather causes the event to be canceled, the $350 incentive will still be awarded to a child selected from those registered by email.

Limit one email entry per child.
