The total number of cases increased from 67 cases last Thursday to 95 cases today.

And Adams now has three COVID-19 deaths. According to county coroner Pat Felix, two of these deaths were in nursing homes and one was at the hospital.

According to data reported by the state, over half of the confirmed cases are in the New Oxford (17350) and Hanover (17331) zip codes. (See county cases zip code map here.)

Felix said the number of COVID-19 cases in the state could be overestimated because the Department of Health is now reporting “possible” COVID-19 cases as part of the numbers they are releasing.

“I did see where there were several cases reported at Plainville Farms in New Oxford,” said Felix.

Felix said “overall the county as a whole is still doing very well with less than 100 cases as of yesterday. Part of the problem is that the people are being tested in other counties and numbers may be reported twice.”

Felix said the state coroner system is having reporting issues with the Department of Health.

According to state data Gettysburg Hospital is in good shape for handling COVID-19 patients, with six available adult ICU Beds, 39 available medical/surgical Beds, and 10 available airborne isolation room beds

Gettysburg Hospital has seven available ventilators, with none in use for COVID-19 patients, and one in use for a non-COVID-19 patient.

The number of COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital is not known.
