A host of community organizations have stepped in to provide meals for families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SCHOOL MEAL OFFERINGS BY DISTRICT
Bermudian
Free bagged lunches for all students 18 year of age and younger
When: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
Where: York Springs Fire Department – Distribution location: Near entrance to banquet hall
Hampton Fire Department – Distribution location: Front of building
Lake Meade Community Center- Distribution Location: Pool entrance
East Berlin Community Center- Distribution Location: Front entrance
How: Food distribution will simply be “grab-and-go” in format and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Children benefiting from this program must be present to receive bagged meals.
These facilities will not be open as a location in which our students and families may eat and ask that you do not congregate.
Conewago
Free Grab-and- Go Food Service Program
When: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:30 am to 12:30pm.
(exposure limited with less days, but food will be provided for the entire week/additional bag for meals provided on Fridays for the weekend)
Where: New Oxford High School
How: Walk-up or drive thru. No advanced sign-up
We kindly ask that you maintain 6-feet of distance between you and others
Fairfield
Free Grab-and- Go Food Service Program
When: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:30 am to 12:30pm.
(exposure limited with less days, but food will be provided for the entire week/Ruth’s Harvest provided on Fridays)
Where: Fairfield Middle School
How: Walk-up or drive thru. No advanced sign-up

Gettysburg
Free Grab-and- Go Food Service Program for all children 18-years and younger
When: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:30 am to 1:00pm.
(exposure limited with less days, but food will be provided for the entire week/Ruth’s Harvest provided on Fridays)
What: Monday & Wednesday: Includes two (2) lunches and 2 breakfast for each child present. Friday: Includes three (3) lunches and (3) breakfasts for each child present. Plus, on Fridays, receive an additional bag of food for each child for the weekend.
Where: Lincoln Elementary School Campus, please follow signs
How: Walk-up or drive thru. No advanced sign-up

Upper Adams
Free Grab-and- Go Food Service Program for 18 years of age & younger (regardless of family’s economic status)
When: Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11:30 am to 1:00pm.
(exposure limited with less days, but food will be provided for the entire week and John’s Meals will be provided on Thursday’s for the weekends)
Where: Meals will be delivered through a drive-thru model and can be picked up daily at Biglerville Elementary School using the side bus loop
How: Please call (717) 677-7191, extension 2700 to let us know how many meals you would need each day. Adult meals are available by request for a cost of $5.00. You may also email us at freemeals@upperadams.org with your meal requests if that is more convenient. State mandates require that every child who is receiving a free supper and breakfast be present in the vehicle when you pick-up your meals in order to receive them.
Littlestown
Free Cold bagged lunches
When: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:00 am to 12:00pm.
(exposure limited with less days, but food will be provided for the entire week/Ruth’s Harvest provided on some Fridays)
Where: Maple Avenue Middle School- Curb side service (Please do not get out of the vehicle)
As a last resort, we will deliver the lunch to any student that is unable to pick up.
Who: All Littlestown Area School District students enrolled in free and reduced lunch

Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen
The Gettysburg Soup Kitchen is offering a bagged lunch program from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
Referral Delivery Program for Homebound: Nine families have received meals thru the referral delivery program. Referrals came from Head Start, social workers and community agencies. If you identify a household that is homebound and is in self-quarantine due to symptoms and lacks social support networks to access food please contact Yeimi (Jamie) at ygagliardi@wellspan.org or 717 337 4264 Ext.6. The food is made possible thanks to SCCAP food pantry.

Head Start Update: Head Start are permitted by CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) to give food to children enrolled in their program.
Teachers are reaching out to families weekly by phone and asking a list of check in questions as well as letting them know what time on Mondays their teacher will be delivering five days’ worth of food for their HS child. They are also including paper copies of activities and information weekly for the child and family.
