The Gettysburgives Challenge and the Bullets Team Challenge kick off the 2020 fundraising campaign at Gettysburg College with a 36-hour event on Feb. 12-13.
The annual event kicks off at 9 a.m. on Feb. 12 and lasts until 9 p.m. on Feb. 13. During that 36-hour window, supporters can make donations of any size to benefit the students at Gettysburg. This year’s donor goal is 2,623 – one for every Gettysburg student.
In addition to the campus-wide challenge, Bullets athletics will get into the competitive spirit with a competition between the varsity programs. The Bullets Team Challenge supports all 24 intercollegiate varsity sports and helps each program reach its goal of being successful on and off the field. Donations can be made to any program and help cut the costs for travel expenses, equipment, recruiting, and many other budgetary concerns.
As an added bonus, the teams that accrue the highest percentage over their donor goal and show the most improvement from last year in terms of percentage/participation, will get an additional $2,500 for expenses.
Last year’s Bullets Team Challenge winners were football (most donors) and women’s golf (highest percentage raised toward goal). Which teams will you help reach their goals this year?
Throughout the 36-hour window, feel free to share your support for the Bullets after you’ve made your donation by taking a picture in your Orange and Blue gear and tagging the main athletics accounts on Twitter (@gburgbullets) and Instagram (@gettysburgathletics) or any of the team social media accounts found HERE.
More information, including direct links to donate, will be made available as soon as the challenge kicks off next Wednesday morning.
