Cumberland Township will be hosting a Building Workshop on Tuesday, June 18th, at 4 p.m to review building plans and resources for residents of Cumberland Township for the next 40 years.
An overview of Cumberland Township’s Building Projects can be found here: Cumberland Township Municipal Building Project Overview

From the desk of David Blocher, Township Manager:
“As John Wooden said ‘Good things take time, as they should. We shouldn’t expect good things to happen overnight.’ That same quote could be used for the Cumberland Township Campus. Our main administrative building was built in 1979 with a small Police Department expansion in 1984. For over two decades the staff, supervisors, and professionals have evaluated the needs of the Township. The principal areas this campus renovation will address are:
- An expansion of the Police Department area which was originally designed for a staff of less than 25% of its current staffing level and adds amenities and functionality the Department currently does not have.
- A meeting area that meets ADA compliance and will better support residents of Cumberland Township.
- Security enhancements that are long overdue.
[At last month’s Board of Supervisors meeting], the Board of Supervisors continue[d] to move forward with the approval to solicit proposals for financing and approval of the Lease Agreement with American Battlefield Trust. The use of the vacant former Gettysburg County Club building will save the Township a substantial amount of funding for a temporary home. The Township will only have utilities, one-third of the mowing, operational maintenance, and snow removal costs.
On behalf of the Township, we extend extreme appreciation to everyone that has played a part in getting us to this point. We will be hosting a Building Workshop June 18th at 4:00PM to review plans and consider a future that will provide the necessary resources for residents of Cumberland Township for another 40 years!”
