The Gettysburg College men

LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Cameron Deiuliis (Highland, Md./River Hill) was named the Centennial Conference Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week after leading Gettysburg College to the team title at its own event this past weekend.

Gettysburg seized the title at the Battle at the Burg held at the Hanover Country Club on Oct. 3-4 behind a runner-up finish from Deiuliis. The sophomore bested his personal low with an even-par 71 in the opening round and followed up with a three-over 74 in round two. He tied for the tournament lead with six birdies and led all scorers by shooting one-under on par-4s. Deiuliis was the top finisher from Gettysburg, which featured four of the top-five golfers overall.

The Bullets carded the second-lowest 36-hole score in program history at 583 and won the event by nine strokes over Stevens. The Ducks held a four-stroke lead after the opening day, but Gettysburg carded the third-lowest single round in program history (287) to claim its second team title of the fall.

Gettysburg competes at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate hosted by McDaniel College at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa., on Oct. 9-10.
