Gettysburg resident and Democrat Shanin Caplener is pursuing a run for the 91st District State House seat currently held by Republican Dan Moul.
Caplener has been a resident of Adams County for over 13 years. “I love my adopted town—Gettysburg, Adams County,” she said. “Raising my daughter Ruth along with my husband Paul, I want to give back to this county and serve my neighbors.”

Caplener said her decision to run for office was inspired by candidates from every party in every election she has voted for. “My passion for fairness, equality, and justice guides my work ethic. I bring my skillset from Administrative Operations with energy, detail and the patience to listen what others need.”
“I need your help to take on this challenge, I want to listen, meet and discuss what we can do together to give our district a fresh start for all of our futures.”
Caplener will be available for petition signing on the following dates:
Friday 2/9 5:30-7:30pm at the Democratic Headquarters on Chambersburg Street.
Saturday 2/10 1-2pm at the Ragged Edge Coffee House on Chambersburg Street.
The 91st legislative district consists of part of Adams County consisting of the Townships of Conewago, Cumberland, Franklin, Freedom, Germany, Hamiltonban, Highland, Liberty, Mount Joy, Mount Pleasant, Straban and Union and the Boroughs of Bonneauville, Carroll Valley, Fairfield, Gettysburg, Littlestown and McSherrystown.
