The Earth Extravaganza, a free, family-friendly celebration of the environment, will be held Monday, April 21, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Ag & Natural Resources Center, 670 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg. Hosted by the Adams County Conservation District and Penn State Extension’s Master Watershed Steward Program, the event will feature interactive displays, educational workshops, and activities for all ages.
Workshops will run from 1 to 6 p.m., with displays opening at 2 p.m. Throughout the day, attendees can explore topics such as rain barrels, solar energy, stormwater management, and local wildlife. Children are invited to storytime sessions at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., and young artists can participate in an Earth-themed art contest sponsored by the Adams County Extension Office.

Visitors can stop by the Adams County Conservation District table to receive a ticket for one of 300 free milkshakes from the PA Dairymen’s Association. Milkshakes will also be available for purchase from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Dairymen’s truck, and additional refreshments will be offered by food truck Dabo-Rye.
A wide range of organizations will present displays and activities, including the Penn State Master Watershed Stewards and Master Gardeners, the Adams County Library System, the PA Fish & Boat Commission, Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve, the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the PA Game Commission, the Green Gettysburg Book Club, Capital RC&D, the Adams County Arts Council, the Watershed Alliance of Adams County, Gettysburg National Military Park, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and Trout Unlimited.
Exhibits will include live animals, environmental trivia, casting demonstrations, conservation tools, and more. Community members are encouraged to register online and attend this celebration of Earth and local environmental efforts.
