After winning their last two regular season games against Northern York (56-54) and Big Spring (66-50), the Gettysburg Area High School Boys’ team is on the cusp of an invitation to the divisional postseason – final invitations will be made on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Marc Mclean has nothing but praise for the team, who finished 13-9 on the year.
“Over the last 3 years, our program has improved from 1 win to 9 wins to 13 wins this year. The program is definitely on the rise and the coaches are preparing these players at all levels very well. I am proud of our players, coaches, and parents,” said Mclean.
“We had a few games slip away from us that looking back on we really needed to capitalize on. We lost 2 games this year by 2 points each game on our worst shooting nights of the season, so that was a little frustrating. We took those close losses to heart, and we’ll hopefully use that as motivation this off-season.
We are a relatively young group this year with no seniors on the squad. We have some pretty big goals for next year, and we need a great summer and fall with a commitment to accomplish those.”
“Next year our goal is to win the league and possibly contend for the school record. I think it is very doable with the team coming back,” said Mclean. “Get ready, next year is going to be a fun ride!”
Hello, So glad to see that the Redbud House Kitchenwares are going strong. I bought a brown betty tea pot from them after they opened their shop in New Oxford on the square. The couple was so nice and you could tell that the shop was a labor of love. I live in Missouri now but if I was in GB I would shopping there.
