We will be staying at the Aspire Hotel/Eisenhower Conference Center on Emmitsburg Rd, just south of town.
This year, we will be partnering with a very special non-profit, the National 9/11 Memorial Trail Alliance, dedicated to connecting all of the 9/11 memorials. 911trail.org.
We will have about 200 guests joining us from a wide radius throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Many of our guests will be first-time visitors to Gettysburg.
We need to arrange at least two (2) volunteers to help us as SAG Drivers. SAG (Support, Assistance, Gear) drivers are very important for the safety and success of a bike tour – they pick up riders on the road who are in need of assistance, and drive the rider and his/her bike back to the hotel.
A SAG driver needs a vehicle with either a bike rack on it, or else, enough space in the back to fit a bike. (Removing the front wheel of the bike can create more space.)
Our SAG drivers do NOT necessarily have to hang around our hotel the whole weekend – they just need to be local on our dates (October 25-27), and available by phone, in case a rider in need calls for help and needs to be picked up. The rider be be somewhere in Adams County, or western York County, near Hanover.
SAG drivers are part of the family, and very necessary for the safety and well-being of our riders. They are warmly welcome to join us at the hotel for as much time as they want, for all the parties, refreshments, socializing, festivities, and buffet dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings.
We will reimburse for gasoline, and we will make a large donation to your organization, and/or, to the church/charity/non-profit of choice.
