A Littlestown landmark burned to the ground in a huge fire yesterday morning. The Edge of Town Center barn, which housed a number of antique stores, was located at 5227 Baltimore Pike on the outskirts of the borough.
Littlestown Alpha 20 Fire Company as well as multiple local fire units worked together to douse the flames.

“We lost an iconic building today north of the borough that housed various small businesses over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the business owners and past customers that frequented the Edge of Town Center barn especially at this busy time of the year,” said Littlestown Alpha 20 Fire Department Chief Scott Small.
“The building and its contents are a complete loss and is still under investigation as to the cause of the fire. It will most likely be an undetermined cause due to the extensive damage making the investigation next to impossible. We’d like to thank all area fire departments that assisted us,” said Jones.
The fire department said the debris pile at the scene of the fire would continue to smolder and burn, and that it was monitoring the situation. Fire department personnel will be returning to the scene throughout the day today.
“My heart is absolutely broken,” said owner Kathy Briner on the store’s Facebook page. “Everyone that knows me, knows that 32-1/2 years of my life was devoted to tending to my store and in a matter of a few minutes this fabulous 1875 barn was completely destroyed by fire and changed my life forever.”
