The Gettysburg Times reported that there may be new development at the former Nell’s supermarket building on West King Street in East Berlin. The possibilities will be discussed at the May borough planning commission meeting.
Minimizing Single-Use Plastics in Gettysburg
Gettysburg Rising has a new initiative to raise awareness about plastics and encourage local retailers to reduce plastic pollution and eliminate waste. The organization hopes to get the Gettysburg Borough Council to pass an ordinance limiting the use of single-use plastics in Gettysburg.

Short-term Rental Seminar Offered
If you offer an apartment for short term rental on Airbnb, HomeAway or in other ways, you must now collect and remit hotel occupancy taxes.
Destination Gettysburg and the Adams County Treasurer’s office will host a free seminar to review state requirements, exemptions and other helpful advice so property owners are well informed.

Gettysburg Parking Manager Richard Miller Has Left His Position
The Gettysburg Times reported that Gettysburg’s parking manager Richard Miller “has left employment with the borough.” Miller was hired in March last year and was active in updating the parking meters in the borough.
