Boeing has reached a tentative agreement with the Machinists union, likely avoiding a major strike that was set to begin on Friday. The deal, which still needs to be approved by union members, covers 33,000 West Coast employees and offers significant improvements in pay and benefits over the next four years.
Under the new contract, workers will receive a 25% pay increase, enhanced contributions to their 401(k) retirement plans, additional time off, and reduced contributions for health insurance. Boeing has also committed to building its next new aircraft at a union facility in the Puget Sound region, securing future jobs for the area.
