Doris M. Kerns, age 70 of Berkley Springs, WV, passed away June 18, 2025, at home. She was born August 28, 1954, in Carlisle to George Bream Sr. and Fern (Heller) Baker. Doris was widowed by her husband, Donald R. Kerns, who passed away on February 29, 2005. She worked for Rubbermaid and loved deer hunting and crossword puzzle books.
She is survived by her children, Seth L. Kauffman and Sandy K. King; stepdaughters, Brenda, Judy, Donna, and Missy; grandsons, Michael L. Gay, Jr., Brandon D. King, and Shawn D. King; seven great-grandchildren; and these siblings: Gerald Bream, Sr., and Lois Burkett and her husband, Butch. Doris was also survived by her nephews, Danny Burkett, Tony Burkett, Gerald Bream, Jr., and Lynn Bream. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Bream and Marlin Bream.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, where a viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Richard Reese will officiate the funeral. Attendees are encouraged to wear camouflage. Doris will be laid to rest at Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs.
