Obituary: James F. Brooks, Jr.

James Franklin Brooks, Jr., age 86 of Gettysburg, PA, a devoted follower of Christ, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2025, at his home.

He was predeceased by his wife, Priscilla (Rodgers) Brooks, in 2023. Together, they shared 57 years of marriage. James was born January 30, 1939, in Brunswick, MD, to Ruby and James Brooks, Sr. He was one of nine children.

James graduated in 1957 from Lincoln High School in Frederick, MD. He retired from Westinghouse Corp in Gettysburg after 32 years of service. He was then employed for the next 10 years by Dave Sites and Sites Reality. James was a devoted member of the Apostolic Ministries Church in Hanover and found so much joy in worshipping with his church family. He was an avid sports fan and was a big supporter of Gettysburg High School and Gettysburg College teams, along with the Michigan Wolverines.

He loved his family and is survived by four children: Richard F. Brooks and his wife Tiffany, Paul N. Brooks and his wife Coleen, James F. Brooks, III and his wife Kelly, and Madeline E. Bullock. He also has nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a large extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11`:00 AM from Hanover Apostolic Ministries Church, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Wayne Hammonds officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday, May 22nd at 2:30 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
