June E. White, 92, Gettysburg, PA formerly of Orrtanna, PA passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the home of her daughter.
She was born November 22, 1932 in Franklin Township, Adams County, PA the daughter of the late Peter and Leila Richardson McDannell. Her husband, Earl M. White died in 2007.
June was a member of Good News Church in Orrtanna, PA. For many years she was employed in the Gettysburg office of Sprint Telephone Company. She loved traveling with her husband Earl after they retired. Most importantly she loved going to all of her grandchildrens’ events. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales, reading and playing cards. She was a member of the Orrtanna Senior Citizens and the Cashtown Fire Company Auxiliary. June also was a member of the Hanover Organ Club and the Fairfield AmVets.
Mrs. White is survived by three daughters; Jill Shaffer and her husband Greg of Fairfield, PA, Jan Sharrah and her husband Ed of Gettysburg, PA, Joyce Topper and her husband David of Gettysburg, PA, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a great grandson, Cage Gilbert, brothers and sisters; Merle J. McDannell, Jay P. McDannell, Mary Kay Topper, Dale K. McDannell, Wayne R. McDannell, Donald McDannell and Dorothy Ann McDannell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Rev. Laura Bulger officiating. Interment will be in Flohrs Cemetery, Cashtown, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
