  • My friend, I can actually share several stories. So let’s start at the beginning. When my mom, Nora Rodkey passed, I took her address book and called each listed. You identified yourself as Bud and Pauline’s daughter. Knowing mom had enjoyed Pauline’s visit, I knew you and I could be fast friends, and we were.

On one visit you were the perfect hostess taking us to the Quilt Museum in Lancaster, and open market and surprised us by having invited siblings and children to your house. I have many pictures from that visit, those family members all deceased, so I know you are celebrating with your love and all of them.

Another occasion that was special was your visit to Oklahoma, staying with us for a few days and on to Ft. Collins to see Larry.

Then there was the Northeast Fall Cruise from New Jersey on up to Quebec. We loved having that time in the buggy ride in Quebec and shopping for a sweater for you. You even had an opportunity to line dance on the ship. And our group of friends loved having you with us.

When I visited a few years ago, glad we made it to the butcher shop where you bought some cheeses. Then there was the yard sale where you found a sun hat. What fun we had for a couple hours

Rhoda, I feel really blessed to know you, fortunate to know our grandmothers were sister and our mothers were good friends. I think it is only natural that we became friends. Rest in Peace, my friend…

    Carolyn Harris, her Okie Cousin
