Obituary: Ronald O. Duvall



Ronald O. Duvall, 94, of Hanover, PA died Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home.

Born May 28, 1928 in St. Dennis, MD he was the son of the late Charles and Olive (Svec) Duvall. He was the husband of the late Thelda Jane Duvall who died April 6, 1986.

Mr. Duvall was a Veteran of the United States Army, 97th Signal Battalion, serving in Germany during the Korean War. After his discharge he worked for a number of years at London Fog Men’s Clothing serving as a warehouse manager. Ronald was a creative person, always engaged in crafting activities including train gardens, model airplanes, dollhouses, birdhouses, leathercraft, photography, and weaving scarves and other items on his loom, just to name a few. At the age of 85 he packed his car with his belongings and drove himself to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to live near his brother. He stayed in New Mexico until age 92, when he decided to come back home to the East coast where he resided in Adams County.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles R. Duvall of Albuquerque, NM. Ronald is survived by his daughter, Mary Duvall and Lawrence Brantley along with Sage and Jane, his service animals, of Hanover, PA; Grandson Nicholas Cappelletti and wife Mandy; Granddaughter Ciara Fuselier and husband George; Sister-in-Law Simone Brown (wife of his late brother Charles); Nieces and Nephews including; Sherry Ross of Berlin, MD; Robert Duvall and wife Chris; Valerie Barber and husband Kirk; Tim Duvall and wife Kathy; and Steve Duvall; and many great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Ronald will be 1:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023 at Garrison Forest Veteran Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Rd., Owings Mills, MD. The Monahan Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements and online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
