Obituary: Susan (Kershner) Brummer

Susan (Kershner) Brummer, 75, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away suddenly Friday evening, August 14, 2026, as a result of an accident in Fenwick Island, DE.

Born March 28, 1951, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Boltz) Kershner, and her stepmother, the late Rea (Rausch) Kershner. She was the loving wife of John A. Brummer of Gettysburg, to whom she was married for 39 years.

Mrs. Brummer was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School and Alvernia College. She worked for over 30 years for Met-Ed as a purchasing agent.

In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her daughter, Lori Archer (David), her stepchildren, Michelle Brummer and J. Andrew Brummer (Molly), her eight grandchildren, Laura, Henry, Samuel, Margaret, Elizabeth, William, Jacob, Charlotte, and her sister, Marilyn Kerschner (Ralph). She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Kershner.

Funeral services for Susan will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Gettysburg Foursquare Church, 328 West Middle St., Gettysburg, PA, with Pastor Mark Chester and Pastor Chuck Good officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:15 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday morning at the church. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Mt. Annville Cemetery, Annville, PA. The Monahan Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements, and online condolences may be shared at monahanfuneralhome.com.
