Painted Turtle Farm, a campus-community farm at Gettysburg College, is now accepting members for its 2025 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The CSA provides weekly or biweekly shares of fresh, seasonal, Certified Naturally Grown produce from June through October.
CSA shares include a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or GMO seeds—ensuring the healthiest food for your family and the environment.

Participants can choose from:
*Weekly Share ($500): 20 weeks of produce, June 4–Oct 15
*Biweekly Share ($275): 10 weeks, every other Wednesday
*Custom Weekly Selections ($30 per share, 6-week minimum)
Each share, ample for a family of four, averaged 11 pounds and included 11–14 different items per week last season.
Pick-up is at Painted Turtle Farm on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shares will be freshly packed and ready for quick and easy pickup.
You’ll enjoy an evolving mix of seasonal produce such as:
*Spring: Spinach, kale, lettuce, beets, peas, radishes, joi choi, herbs
*Summer: Tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, potatoes, garlic, cut flowers
*Fall: Carrots, winter squash, sweet potatoes, onions, chard, kohlrabi
By joining, members support a broader campus movement for sustainability and food justice, gain insight into food systems, and build relationships with student farmers and local families. Members are invited to farm visits, educational sessions, and seasonal community potlucks.
The farm is managed by Ben Mearns of Mud College Farm, who brings a deep commitment to sustainable agriculture and student learning.
CSA members share in the risks and rewards of farming. While every effort is made to provide bountiful shares, natural variables like weather may impact yields. Shares are non-refundable once the season begins.
