With the primary and special election coming on Tuesday, it’s time to thank the many people who make the election possible, and particularly the many candidates who are running for office.
The Adams County Election Commission is ready for our votes at about fifty polling places in the county. They have created over 150 separate ballots to be used in the election.
And they are also handling the hundreds of absentee ballots that have already been cast.
Over 100 candidates, both Democrats, and Republicans, are running for office. This is a substantial commitment of time and effort, made by dedicated community members, to the good of the county.
For us voters, all we have to do is show up on Tuesday and cast our votes.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The election office reminds us to not wear any exposed campaign material and to not discuss any political subjects inside the polling place.
When signing in to vote, please be sure to check that your address is listed correctly.
Given the substantial work that so many others have already done for us and are prepared to do if they win their election, it the responsibility of all of us to vote.
Voting takes only a few minutes, but the outcomes last for years.
See you at the polls.
