The Rotary Club of Gettysburg will dedicate a Peace Pole at Gettysburg Recreation Park on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
The pole was donated to the club at a multi-district conference last April. The club describes it as a symbol of Rotary’s commitment to peace and international understanding.
“We intend this to be a public event,” said Chuck Elder, president of the Rotary Club of Gettysburg. “It should be a great opportunity to highlight the efforts of Rotary and our ongoing mission to promote peace in our community and around the world. All are welcome to attend.”
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million members. The Rotary Club of Gettysburg is part of District 7390.

On behalf of the GARA (Rec Park) board and myself, we look forward to partnering with the Gettysburg Rotary and promoting peace in our community and beyond. The ceremony at 11 a.m. will be on the South end of the park along the exercise trail near the football field. I hope you can make it.
