With rainy weather blowing out just as the 2023 Gettysburg “A Christmas Festival” began last evening, thousands of lovers of Gettysburg blew in for holiday fun and festivities.
From opportunities to meet Santa to shopping throughout the borough, to the Gettysburg Garden Club’s annual greens sale at the firehouse, to a scavenger hunt, free carriage rides, ice cream socials, a popup market, and dozens of musical events and food trucks, downtown Gettysburg was alive and festive on Friday evening and Saturday.
Local merchants and restaurants were busy with the crowds.
“The festival came together beautifully, thanks to businesses, sponsors, and volunteers,” said Main Street Gettysburg Director Jill Sellers. “We’re thankful the rain cleared for today.”
“Main Street Gettysburg is thrilled to see downtown thriving with activity and commerce to kick off the holiday season,” said Sellers.
The festival continues tomorrow from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Excellent job, photo’s wonderful; the whole holiday event went very well. Spent sunday at the arts council, it was buzzing with great vendors, baskets to be auctioned, and very cool gingerbread houses. All in all, gettysburg was jumping for the holidays.
You should show pictures of the Rabbit Transit buses, and the drivers that are so much of a big part of taking the people there and away again.
It’s wonderful to see so many people enjoying our community!
