The second annual Gettysburg Act Local Fair, organized by Gettysburg Rising, drew a crowd to Lincoln Square this afternoon, bringing together a wide range of local nonprofits and grassroots groups for a two-hour community showcase.
Held from noon to 2 p.m., the event gave residents an opportunity to meet directly with organizations working across Adams County, learn about local initiatives, and find ways to get involved. Tables lined the square as volunteers and representatives shared information on services, advocacy efforts, and upcoming programs.
Participating groups included Gettysburg Rising, Migrant Seasonal Agricultural Concerns (MSAC), Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice (ICPJ), Gettysburg Pride, Gettysburg Community Theatre, The Arc of York and Adams County, YWCA Hanover Safe Home, YWCA Carlisle Sexual Assault Services, Manos Unidas, PGL Unidos Por Adams, South Central Community Collective, and MomsRising.
The fair emphasized the strength and diversity of the local nonprofit community, offering a space for collaboration and connection while highlighting the many ways residents can support causes ranging from social services and the arts to advocacy and community organizing.
