The Upper Adams 250th celebration began today with a 1:00 p.m. parade, followed by live music, food/alcohol vendors, a car/tractor/motorcycle show, corn hole tournament, craft vendors, Step Up for History 250K Walk, Flag Retirement Ceremony, and family fun activities at Oakside Park.
The day concluded with fireworks.

I would like to comment on the 250th celebration in Biglerville. First, I wish to say it is hard to criticize volunteers; they are not paid and are working for the good of all. That being said, the celebration was a success, lot of participation and people enjoyed it. However, mistakes were made, a few people saw an opportunity to act as big-shots and ordered people around. I was ordered to move my car from my 3 separate spots. I finally left in disgust. Not to mention, the lack of communication between the participants and volunteers was the main benefactor to the reason I left. It seems as though, there was no order or organization to the event.
That being said, I think this could be a money maker for the community at large. I can remember when the Lead-Sled car show was held at the park for years. I think that Biglerville should consider holding these community shows several times a year to make money for the local area. Something to think about !!!
