“I’m extremely humbled and blessed to be part of the inaugural Hall of Fame class at Seneca Valley,” said Hunt-Shepherd. “I had the opportunity to be coached and mentored by some great people, and they made a major impact on my life. They really instilled in me things that we value in our program at Gettysburg today; integrity, discipline, team-first mentality, and a tremendous sense of community. I am grateful for all of the coaches, teachers, and administrators that gave up so much of their time to invest in me as a student and an athlete at Seneca Valley.”

Hunt-Shepherd, a 1992 Seneca Valley graduate, was a two-time All-County honoree, earned All-Met accolades, and was a two-time state finalist on the softball team. She also competed in football and basketball for the Eagles, serving as the starting holder, wide receiver, and point guard, respectively.

After having a dominant high school career, Hunt-Shepherd began her softball collegiate career at Miami (Ohio) University from 1992 to 1994, went on to play one year at Shippensburg University, before closing her career at the University of Maryland. At Shippensburg, she grabbed All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference First Team accolades at third base in 1995, served as the Terrapins team captain, and helped the team win the Atlantic Coast Conference championship in 1997. Hunt-Shepherd graduated from Maryland in 1997 with a B.S. in Health Education.

Hunt-Shepherd has made her rounds in the softball world, having served as a collegiate head coach for 16 years with stops at Ohio Northern University and Pittsburg State University before arriving at Gettysburg in 2014. In eight seasons at Gettysburg, she has posted a 167-99-1 record, guided the Bullets to two Centennial Conference titles (2018 & 2021), two trips to the NCAA Division III Regional Championship, named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year in 2018, and has coached six All-Americans, 21 All-Region, 64 All-Conference, and four Players/Pitchers of the Year recipients.

Before arriving at Gettysburg, Hunt-Shepherd was the head coach at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio from 2004 to 2010, guiding the Polar Bears to three Ohio Athletic Conference championships (2007, 2009, 2010) and one NCAA regional title. In 2009, Hunt-Shepherd led Ohio Northern to both conference and regional championships and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Softball Championships. In 2010, ONU won 41 games, competed in the regional tournament for the second consecutive season, and led the nation in team batting average (.382).

Hunt-Shepherd was named OAC Coach of the Year three times as well as Regional Coach of the Year in 2009. She coached six All-Americans, 16 all-region selections, and 25 all-conference players at Ohio Northern.

Following her time at Ohio Northern, Hunt-Shepherd spent one year as head coach at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kanas.
