My name is Neil Belliveau, and I am the Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Adams County. I am writing to advocate for the Defend the Guard legislation, a crucial initiative to ensure our National Guard members are deployed into combat zones only with a formal declaration of war by Congress, as mandated by the Constitution.

By engaging in military actions without congressional approval, his administration risks the United States’ entanglement in another war. The Defend the Guard legislation would serve as a crucial safeguard, ensuring that our National Guard cannot be deployed into such dangerous situations without a formal declaration of war. This protection is not just important, it’s a matter of life and death for our troops and the integrity of our democratic processes.
The Defend the Guard initiative is more than a policy proposal; it is a statement that we value the lives of our service members and the principles of democracy.
