The Adams County Food Policy Council (ACFPC) would like to publicly thank Representative Dan Moul for his support of the Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) program. On June 3rd of this year, we wrote about smart steps to address food insecurity in Adams County, and we urged constituents to call their representatives. On July 1st, Rep. Moul joined Governor Shapiro and others at a visit to Destiny Dairy Bar to talk about the impacts of USDA funding cuts and more.
At a time when many families across Pennsylvania are struggling with food insecurity, and local farmers are navigating economic uncertainty, programs like LFPA offer a win-win solution: purchasing fresh, locally grown food from Pennsylvania farmers and ensuring it reaches the communities that need it most. Rep. Moul’s public support and work with bipartisan legislative leadership to help secure this program’s future was both timely and deeply appreciated.

As highlighted in Governor Shapiro’s recent statement, this is about more than politics or food; it’s about investing in Pennsylvania agriculture, supporting rural economies, and strengthening our local food systems. Rep. Moul’s leadership on this issue reflects a commitment to practical, bipartisan solutions that benefit both producers and consumers right here in Adams County and across the Commonwealth.
On behalf of the Adams County Food Policy Council, we thank Rep. Moul for standing with our farmers, families, and food system. We look forward to continuing our shared work toward a more resilient and equitable future.
