This coming weekend is a particularly busy one in Adams County, with at least six major activities in the works.
The events include:

- The Pennsylvania Municipal League Annual Summit
- The Gettysburg College Homecoming
- The Gettysburg Area School District Homecoming
- First Friday Events
- The National Harvest Festival in Biglerville
In addition, the Long, Long, Long, Long Dinner Party on Friday will cause major traffic rerouting.
The event includes 161 tables and 1,281 seats along Baltimore Street from the Square to Steinwehr Avenue.
In addition to the diners and food purveyors will be musical entertainment and a spirits tent on the square.
According to Borough Manager Charles Gable, preparation and hosting of the event will affect parking, security, and refuse collection.
Gettysburg will look like “one massive party” that evening, he said.
Gable said parts of the Square and Baltimore Street itself will be closed to vehicular traffic until 10 p.m. on Friday.
In addition, parking will be limited after 2:00 a.m.Thursday night.
PennDOT has created special traffic bypass routes for the event.
Gable said cement barriers will be installed for security and police presence will be increased. Arrangements for trash removal have been made and comfort stations will be installed.
Gable said 800 tickets have already been sold.
