Here’s a snapshot of some of the many activities available for your enjoyment this weekend.

Community: The 28th annual Adams County Heritage Festival is on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gettysburg Rec Park.

Visual Arts: A number of art exhibitions are open this weekend for your enjoyment. Please see the full list on the arts calendar.

Sports at Gettysburg College: Football, soccer, tennis, and more. Please check the website for more information.

Film: Marianne and Leonard: Words of Love , a personal and romantic documentary portrait of the relationship between musician and writer Leonard Cohen and his muse, opens at the Gettysburg Majestic Theater.

Film: The Peanut Butter Falcon plays at the Gettysburg Majestic Theater: Zak runs away from his care home to pursue a career in wrestling, making new friends on his journey. Starring Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson.

Theater: Guys & Dolls, the musical romantic comedy involving the unlikeliest of Manhattan pairings: a high-rolling gambler and a puritanical missionary a showgirl dreaming of the straight-and-narrow. continues at the community theater.

Fitness: Free yoga class at Schmucker Art Gallery on the Gettysburg College Campus. Friday, 4 p.m.

Friday Evening:

  • Book Discussion: “Second Day at Gettysburg The Attack and Defense of Cemetery Ridge on July 2 1863,” with author Scott Mingus at Friday’s Rupp House Courtyard Chat 
  • Music: Dan and Ali upstairs at the Garry Owen 
    The dynamic duo plays all of your favorite eclectic covers of everything from punk to alt country indie music Celtic music and the occasional ’80’s TV theme song.
  • Music: Gettysburg’s own wunderkind, organist John Wolfe, comes home for a solo performance at the Mighty Andover organ at the Gettysburg Seminary Chapel. 7:30 p.m.
