The Adams County Community Foundation traces its beginning to 1985 when the Rotary Club of Gettysburg established a charitable organization to build a permanent charitable endowment and promote philanthropy in Adams County. From that very humble beginning we now have an organization that manages 350 charitable funds, a community grant program that awards grants to nonprofits across the spectrum of charitable needs, and produces our local giving day.
The Giving Spree is an opportunity for everyone to support a multitude of Adams County nonprofits.
This year 100 local nonprofits will benefit from your donations and none of them pay a fee to participate. Every dollar you donate goes to the nonprofit for their use in Adams County. Last year alone over $3.6M was donated, making the Giving Spree one of the largest days of giving in the nation. Think of that. The people of Adams County donated that amount of money to feed the needy, educate children, help the sick and improve the lives of our families, neighbors and friends in a hundred different ways.
How can you donate? You can drop it off, mail it in or give online. For details see www.ACCFGivingSpree.org. Your gift can be a ‘today’ gift meaning the nonprofit receives the money immediately or it can be a ‘forever’ gift meaning the money will be placed in an endowment that generates an annual distribution in perpetuity, helping the people of Adams County from now on.
The fun way to give is to join your friends and neighbors at the Giving Spree gathering from 3-7 PM November 6, 2025 at the Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel (95 Presidential Circle, Gettysburg, PA). Visit the various booths and learn what people are doing to improve life in Adams County.
Move from thinking about giving to actually giving!
