Sophomore Megan Wojnar (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and freshman Talia Moss (Toronto, Ontario/Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute) each posted two individual wins to lead Gettysburg College (10-1, 6-1 CC) to a 166-96 victory over Franklin & Marshall College (9-3, 4-2 CC) in the Bullets Pool Saturday afternoon.

Meet Highlights

  • Wasson, Moss, Clancy, and Crilly teamed up for a win in the 200 medley relay to kick off the meet. Wasson handed the team a slight lead with her lead-off leg and Crilly held off a late charge by F&M to complete the race in 1:49.39.
  • Moss led a 1-2-3 finish by the Bullets in the 100 breaststroke. She cruised to the wall in a season-best time of 1:07.74, which marked the seventh-fastest time in program history. The first-year led another 1-2-3 finish by the hosts in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in a personal best time of 2:28.68.
  • Wojnar battled with first-year Lauren Manning (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) in the 1,000 free to start her day. Manning held a slight advantage throughout the race and pulled away over the second half for a near-three second win with a time of 10:50.63. Wojnar won the rematch with Manning in the 200 back, running away with a three-second win with a time of 2:10.22. The sophomore closed her day by claiming the top spot in the 200 IM at 2:15.89.
  • Crilly dueled with Julie McFadden in the sprint freestyle events. The Gettysburg senior edged McFadden by 0.03 seconds with a time of 24.49 in the 50, but the Diplomat swimmer came back to win the 100 free. Crilly logged a time of 54.12.
  • Clancy fell behind classmate Annabel Gorman (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) at the halfway point of the 200 fly. She pulled back into the lead in the next 50 yards and closed with a strong final lap to win in 2:11.04. Clancy also finished runner-up to Moss in the 200 breast (2:29.32).
  • Wasson and junior Katherine Sears (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown West) accounted for the team’s remaining wins. Wasson went sub-minute for the fifth time this season to win the 100 back (59.38), while Sears cruised to a nine-second victory in the 500 free (5:23.11).

 
Where the Series Stands Now
Gettysburg won its ninth consecutive match up with Franklin & Marshall and improved to 45-6 in the all-time series.
