Moving into the tenth week of vaccine deliveries in the state, opportunities for first-dose shots in Adams County remain limited or non-existent. Neither the Adams Cumberland Pharmacy system nor the Wellspan system currently show any available openings for first-dose appointments.
The PA Department of Health said it delivered about 2,000 doses of vaccines during the week of Feb. 8, but none were delivered last week.
Wellspan said they learned last week that vaccine providers across the Commonwealth had requested more second doses of the Moderna vaccine than Operation Warp Speed was able to provide. This required them to reschedule some of their already-scheduled first-dose appointments.
Wellspan says they are administering over 10,000 doses every week across their 15 primary care offices and 7 hospitals, most of which are not in Adams County.
Those interested in a vaccine should register for a MyWellSpan account as there is an option on that site to be able to receive notifications when new appointments become available.
For those interested in a vaccine who do not have internet access, please call the COVID-19 hotline at (855) 851-3641.
Mon – Fri 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
