There is no question that our Republic is in a sad state of divisiveness and hatred for our fellow man. It has gotten so bad that anyone who holds to centrist policies these days is excoriated by both sides as being extremist or naïve; therefore, any centrist liberal or conservative has had to live in the shadows of silence and vote their party line in fear of being ostracized.
The Harris-Walz campaign has sadly silenced their own party’s centrists by taking the most extreme position possible on abortion. According to the Washington Post, Harris opposed a ban that prohibited abortions after 20 weeks gestation when she was a senator. She has also selected the most extreme governor to advocate killing babies at any stage of pregnancy. According to NBC, the CEO of Planned Parenthood, Alexis McGill Johnson was quoted saying, “By choosing Gov. Walz as her running mate, VP Harris has put forward the most pro-reproductive freedom ticket in history. Gov. Walz is a longtime champion of sexual and reproductive health care and has been a fierce abortion rights champion as governor.”
Fierce is an appropriate word to use. As Governor, Walz was the first to sign a bill in 2023 to allow abortions without any limitations at any point in pregnancy. He boasted, “To Minnesotans, know that your access to reproductive health, and your right to make your own health care decisions, are preserved and protected.” But what decisions are available to them when, according to the Washington Examiner, “Walz also signed the repeal of the Positive Alternatives Act, which funded pregnancy resource centers, also known as crisis pregnancy centers,”? Are our women actually getting a choice on their babies or is it now boiled down to life or death? Is this the kind of choice we should get? And why wouldn’t a fully developed and viable child get a right to life?
The centrist knows that third trimester abortions are murder. Yet they are forced to turn a blind eye when the Harris-Walz campaign makes it one of their chief issues to fight for. The centrist will have to ignore the murderous campaign and instead say they are voting for other issues, but late-term abortions are still going to happen. They must acknowledge that voting for Harris is voting for baby murder. Their only alternative is to examine the alternative position that reflects their values. Just reading the word “Trump” can make a person nauseous, but the honest voter knows that it is his moderate values that reflect their own.

Reverend Fitzgerald, Thanks for your comments about the Harris proposal of abortion without any limits. I, too, do not like late-term abortion unless it is for the health and life of the mother. To exclude all late term abortions could put women in the same position in which they are now- not getting medical help for miscarriages or problems within their pregnancy. I cannot think of any woman who would opt for a late term abortion unless her life was compromised or it would cause other medical issues. Sometimes babies die in utero and to carry the baby full term… Read more »
