This past two weeks have been difficult to say the least, with over 200 executive orders, many of which are unconstitutional and illegal, working to dismantle our democracy. It is imperative that we do whatever is in our power to fight back.
Many people ask, “How can we fight this onslaught of lies, crime, fascism, etc.?” The answer for the moment is simple…

That’s it, in a nutshell. When you show the bullies that you won’t take their authoritarian regime lying down, you also give our neighbors a chance to vote for you instead of another person who will deny Americans and other residents here our basic humanity and agency,
Our next primary election is May 20th and most of these offices are local. To see the offices for which you are eligible, please use the app ACTIVOTE. Once you load your resident street address, the local positions will be listed for you.

If you see a position that interests you, please head to the Adams County Board of Elections at 230 Greenamyer Lane, Gettysburg, PA 17325. There, friendly staff will help you to understand what you need in order to run for office. To be on the ballot for the May 20th primary, for example, you will need signatures of support and you can only obtain them between February 18th and March 11th.That’s probably the biggest hurdle that most new candidates aren’t aware of, but please don’t worry.
