Thad’s Place, home of the Thaddeus Stevens Museum, held its grand opening yesterday.
The museum, located at 46 Chambersburg Street, is sponsored by the Thaddeus Stevens Society.
April 4 was Thaddeus Stevens’ 232nd birthday and the 25th anniversary of the Thaddeus Stevens Society.
The museum features artifacts from the society’s collection including many of Stevens’ letters.
Tom Jolin provided entertainment on the hammered dulcimer.
“It was a great grand opening and thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to more people coming to visit the free museum,” said museum director Ross Hetrick.
Our photographer Jim Bargas was there for the festivities.
Where do you park. ????
Who can afford to feed the expensive meters.
Mary, it’s really not that hard, or expensive.
If you use the parking garage on Racehorse Alley and visit the museum for 2 hours it will cost you $3.
